A mural of Halie Selassie I is up in Brooklyn’s industrial-style Bushwick neighborhood. Halie Selassie I was the first emperor of Ethiopia who ruled from 1930 – 1974. When he passed in 1975, his legacy continued to live on in the Rastafari movement, which was founded in Jamaica in the 1920s. Former reggae artist Khari Kill (@khari_kill1) paid homage to this royal figure with a Halie Selassie mural entitled HIM! His Imperial Majesty.
